Greetings in Christ!

My name is Benjamin Del Pozo and I was born in Lima, Peru. I had the privilege of starting my Bachelors in Theology at Inca Union College. I went to Andrew University to pursue a Masters of Divinity. I also went to Biola University for a Doctorate in Ministry.

When I was 12 years old in 1978, I lost the most precious toy I had ever had. Growing up in Peru, it was almost impossible to own a bicycle. So, as soon as I arrived in the States, I worked hard picking strawberries to save money. I was able to save $80 and with that money I went to JCPenney and purchased a dirt bike. When I bought it, I was the happiest kid alive. I used to sleep with my bike, go to school with my bike, go swimming with my bike, and go to the woods with my bike at Andrew’s University.  Until one day, someone came to my apartment and stole my bike. I cried and I was weeping for a year.  My dad was studying for his Master of Divinity, and he was already a full-blown pastor. Therefore, since I wanted my bike so badly, I simply made a deal with the Lord. "Dear Jesus Christ Jehovah, if you give me back my bike, I will become a pastor." And all of a sudden, as soon as I finished my prayer, my bike was there in front of the science complex of the university.  Therefore, I would like to say that my calling to the ministry had to deal with my most precious toy, and the Lord allowed that painful experience to call me to preach the word of God.  On my graduation day, another thief came and stole my bike in February 1986. I was already a pastor and there was no need for my bike in my life. Therefore, the Lord Jesus Christ allowed another thief to take it away from me.
This time, there were tears, but tears of joy!
God himself had confirmed my call to the ministry!

I greatly appreciate the Lord and His leading in my life that I now begin my journey here at Palmdale and Acton SDA congregations serving as your Pastor. I wanted to be sure to take this opportunity to send you a brief note of thanks for accepting us here as part of your church family and rest assured, my wife and I are looking forward to joyous and fruitful ministry in the years to come.
However, the most crucial element of my introduction is sharing with you my favorite scripture.

"For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified." 1 Corinthians 2:2

Joyfully serving Christ!

About Seventh-day Adventists

The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a mainstream Protestant church with approximately 19 million members worldwide, including more than one million members in North America. The Seventh-day Adventist Church seeks to enhance quality of life for people everywhere and to let people know that Jesus is coming again soon.

Adventists believe a Trinity of three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—make up one God. They made salvation possible when Jesus, the Son, came to earth as a baby in Bethlehem and lived a sinless life in accordance with the Father's will. When Jesus was crucified for the sins of the people of the world and arose from the dead on the third day, victory was won for everyone.

When He returned to heaven following the resurrection, Jesus left the Holy Spirit to serve as our Comforter and Counselor. He promised to return to earth a second time to complete His plan of salvation and take His people to heaven. Adventists are among the believers who look forward to that day.

Adventists believe that God is concerned with the quality of human life, and that everything—the way we live, eat, speak, think, treat each other, and care for the world around us—is part of His plan. Our families, our children, our jobs, our talents, our money, and our time are all important to Him.
